Considerations on some hydrological aspects of Bauru Formation

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to show some considerations about hydrogeological aspects of the "Bauru Formation" and the possibilities of an hydraulic net of comunications between the "Bauru Formation" and the "Botucatu Formation", through the barrier of lava flow which is the cause of its separation. The mentioned barrier is known as "Serra Geral Formation". The tubular wells drilled by the Instituto Geológico, has constantly reached and even passed through the basaltic level ground, which is located the "Bauru Formation". This occurence has affected the hydraulic reaction of such wells, which is demonstrated in the analysis of 91 wells considered in this work. The supposition on the inferior recharge of the "Bauru Formation" through the "Botucatu Formation", is based in some facts associated to geological and hydrogeological aspects. The author thinks that under the hydrogeological point of view, both Formations, should be studied as a set due the possibility of an underground water dynamic comprising "Bauru Formation" and "Botucatu Formation"
