Abstract

Hillslope features and deposits illustrate the importance of mass movements in si0- pe evolution at the top of the Campos do Jordão Plateau. During the Pleistocene, slope erosional phenomena are evidenced by a series of deep hollows and their correlative deposits. Holocene record allows the identification of a succession of colluvium beds and intermediate paleosols. Quaternary climatic variations have been detected. Palynological evidence document small changes in the vegetation probably related to Holocenic climatic variations.
