Botucatu aquifer knowledge in Araraquara, SP

Abstract

The Botucatu Aquifer exceeds the needs of water supply in Araraquara (SP). In general its waters are of excellent qualities. Though it is necessary detailed knowledge of the caracteristics of Botucatu Aquifer to outline foremost conceptions of ground water impounding besides, providing fundamentais for the obliged disciplinary of water use. This work presents geological features of the local aquifer and the outcomes related to hydraulics proprierties in 6 wells. Through "Jacob method" (1940) the data obtained are controverted.
