Abstract

A new plant - Plumsteadiella sarapuiensis n. sp. - is described in the Tubarão Group, Itararé Subgroup, found in core drill, in Sarapui city, São Paulo State, Brazil. It resembles P. elegans Le Roux from Vereeniging, South Africa and P. apedicellata Millan from Santa Catarina State, Brazil (Rio Bonito Formation, Guatá Subgroup, Tubarão Group). Its taxonomy is indeterminate and the cronoestratigraphic position in the Itararé Subgroup of São Paulo State is discussed.
