Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

All texts must be written in Portuguese or in English.

Title, the number of the tables and figures, index, name in full of authors, and address (mail box, area, e-mail address, ZIP code, city and state) should be in the first page.

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order: abstract in Portuguese, abstract in English, the full text, acknowledgements, references and captions of tables and figures. All tables and figures should be included at the end of the text. Pages should be numbered consecutively. When including the author's name in full, type the given name(s) first followed by the surname(s), which must be in upper case. The approximate position of figures and tables should be indicated in the text. All titles and subtitles should be numbered in the following way:

1st level 1.1
2nd level 1.1.1
3rd level 1.1.1.1

The abstract in Portuguese and the abstract in English should be at least 25 lines long and should be followed by 4 or 6 keywords.
Text and tables should be created in Word for Windows, Times New Roman or Arial, font size 12, in A4 size. All tables should be self-explanatory and numbered consecutively.

In the text, authors' names should be in uppercase, according to the author/date system, in chronological order. Examples:

SILVA (1980)
SILVA & SILVA (1981)
SILVA et al. (1982)
(TRICART et al. 1958, ALMEIDA 1964, AB'SÁBER 1969)
(AB'SÁBER 1969, 1980; VANZOLINI 1981)

The list of references should be placed at the end of the paper, and should be in alphabetical order of author's surname, according to the following examples:

Book:

BAUWE, H. 1978. Groundwater hydrology. McGraw-Hill, New York, 480 p.

Book chapter:

Graphic and photographic illustrations should be numbered consecutively, in the order they are in the text, and should be considered as figures.  Considering possible reductions, size of letters and symbols in the figures should be appropriate. The maximum size of the figures is 21 X 15 cm. 

Proofs 

Before printing, proofs of articles will be sent to authors for correction. Authors are not allowed to make changes to articles accepted for publication. Proofs should be returned within 3 days.

Articles will be available on the Web Portal of Electronic Journals of Geosciences - PPeGeo.
